Bluff Harbour Endowment Act 1878

An Act to reserve and vest Land as an Endowment for the Bluff Harbour.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

  • The Short Title of this Act shall be The Bluff Harbour Endowment Act, 1878.

2 Lands described in Schedule vested in Bluff Harbour Board

  • The lands described in the Schedule hereto are hereby reserved, and shall, from and after the passing of this Act, vest in the Bluff Harbour Board, as constituted by The Bluff Harbour Board Act 1876, and shall be held by the said Board upon the like trusts, with the powers and for the purposes set opposite to the land in the Schedule to this Act.

All that parcel of land situated in the Town of Campbelltown, containing by admeasurement two (2) roods and four (4) poles, more or less, being Sections four (4) and five (5), Block twelve (XII), of said town. Bounded towards the North by Sections 1, 6, and 3 of said Block, two hundred and sixty-eight (268) links; towards the South-east by Section 7, Block 1, Campbelltown Hundred, two hundred and seventy-six (276) links; towards the South by Foyle Street, one hundred and fifty-one (151) links; and towards the West by Lee Street, two hundred and fifty (250) links. For offices for the Bluff Harbour Board.

  • The first paragraph to this Schedule was repealed, as from 23 October 1952, by section 2(3) Bluff Borough Council and [Southland Harbour Board] Empowering Act 1952 (1952 No 24(L)).

All that parcel of land situated in the Southland Division of the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement two (2) roods, more or less, being Sections twenty-one (21) and twenty-two (22), Block sixty-three (LXIII), Town of Invercargill. Bounded on the North by Sections 1 and 2 of the same block, two hundred (200) links; on the East by Section 20 of the same block, two hundred and fifty (250) links; on the South by Esk Street, two hundred (200) links; and on the West by Deveron Street, two hundred and fifty (250) links. For offices for use of Bluff Harbour Board.

All that parcel of land situated in the Southland Division of the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement four (4) acres and eighteen (18) poles, more or less, being Section twenty-six (26), Block one (1), Campbelltown Hundred. Bounded as follows: On the North, East, and South by Foveaux Strait; and on the West by road reserves, and by Section 1 of the said Block I, one thousand four hundred (1400) links. For a pilot station in connection with Bluff Harbour.
