An Act to vest in the Council of the County of Maniototo certain Sections of a Forest Reserve.

The Preamble was repealed, as from 19 November 1907, by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907 (1907 No 40), and previously read: “WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty six, sections six and seven of block six of the Gimmerburn Survey District, in the Land District of Otago, described in the Schedule hereto, were, amongst other lands, set apart as and for State forests within the provisions of The New Zealand State Forests Act 1885: And whereas the Council of the County of Maniototo have undertaken, if the aforesaid sections were vested in them, to plant the same with forest trees: And whereas it is desirable that the said sections should be so vested, but a special authority is required in that behalf:”
The Short Title of this Act is The Gimmerburn Forest Reserve Act, 1890.
The aforesaid sections six and seven of block six of the Gimmerburn Survey District are hereby vested in the Corporation of the County of Maniototo for an estate in fee-simple, to hold the same as and for a forest reserve, to be planted with forest trees by the Council of the said county.
Section 2 was amended, as from 19 November 1907, by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907 (1907 No 40) by repealing the words “The aforesaid”

The aforesaid Council in relation to the aforesaid sections is hereby vested with all the powers of the Governor, or Governor in Council, or of the Commissioner of State Forests under The New Zealand State Forests Act 1885, and may from time to time exercise all or any of such powers, with the exception of the power granted to the aforesaid Commissioner under the said Act to borrow moneys for the purposes of such Act.
ALL that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 439 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos 6 and 7, Block VI, Gimmerburn Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road-line; towards the south-east by a road-line; towards the south by Block II, Upper Taieri District: and towards the west by a road-line.
