Te Aroha Recreation-Ground and Racecourse Act 1892

An Act to change the Purpose of a Recreation-ground at Te Aroha, and to set apart other Lands for such Purpose.

  • Preamble

    [Repealed]

    The Preamble to this Act was repealed, as from 19 November 1907, by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907 (1907 No 40).

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title

  • The Short Title of this Act is The Te Aroha Recreation-ground and Racecourse Act 1892.

2 Act to be special Act

  • This Act shall be deemed a special Act within the meaning and for the purposes of The Public Reserves Act 1881 (herein referred to as the said Act).

3 Land set apart for racecourse at Te Aroha

  • The lands first described in the Schedule hereto are hereby discharged from reservation as a recreation-ground, and are hereby set apart as a racecourse reserve, and vested in William Herbert Herries, Thomas Bradley, and Alexander Watson Edwards, all of Te Aroha, as trustees of the said racecourse, subject to the provisions of the said Act and The Public Reserves Act 1881 Amendment Act 1885.

4 New recreation-ground provided at Te Aroha

  • The lands secondly described in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart and reserved as a recreation-ground under the said Act, and shall be deemed to be subject to The Public Domains Act 1881, and vested for the above purpose in the same persons as trustees thereof as the lands firstly herein described were vested at the time of the passing of this Act.

Schedule

Te Aroha racecourse

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 121 acres, more or less being northern portion of Section No 5, Block XI, Te Aroha Survey District, Land District of Auckland. Bounded on the north by Section No 89, Block IX, Te Aroha Survey District; on the north-east by a public road; on the south-east by the southern portion of Section No 5; and on the west by Section No 107, a road, and Section No 105 of the said Block XI.

Te Aroha recreation-ground

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 68 acres, more or less, being portion of Te Aroha Township, Land District of Auckland. Bounded towards the north-west by Reserve No 91 and Suburban Section No 112; towards the north-east generally by the road reserved along the left bank of the Waihou River; towards the south-east by the road forming the south-east boundary of Blocks IV, VIII, XII, XVI, and XX of Te Aroha Township; and towards the south-west by the road forming the south-west boundary of Blocks XX and XIX of said Te Aroha Township.
