WHEREAS certain lands in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay are vested in the Right Reverend Edward Craig Stuart, Bishop of Waiapu, William Russell Russell, Arthur James Cotterill, James Nelson Williams, and John Beckett Fielder, upon trust as an endowment for a school to be maintained in the District of Ahuriri for the education of children of Her Majesty's subjects of both races in New Zealand: And whereas other lands in the said Provincial District of Hawke's Bay are vested in the said Trustees upon trust as an endowment for a school to be maintained at Te Aute, in the District of Ahuriri, for the benefit of the aboriginal inhabitants of New Zealand: And whereas a school for Maori girls has been established by certain private individuals at Hukarere, in the Township of Napier: And whereas the said private individuals have agreed to convey the site of the said school, to wit, one acre three perches and eight-tenths of a perch, at Hukarere, to the said Trustees to be held as a site for a school to be maintained for the education of Maori girls in connection with the Te Aute College Trust: And whereas it is desirable that the Trustees should be authorised to maintain such school out of the funds arising from the endowments aforesaid:

was substituted, as from 27 November 1947, for a reference to “Native”
pursuant to section 2(2) Maori Purposes Act 1947 (1947 No 59).
