An Act to vest a certain Reserve in the Education Board of the District of Wanganui for the Purposes of a Technical-school Site at Hawera, and in Exchange therefor to vest another Reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hawera.
WHEREAS the land described in Schedule 1 hereto is vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hawera in trust as a reserve for municipal purposes: And whereas the land described in Schedule 2 hereto is by section nineteen of the Reserves, Endowments, and Crown and Maori Lands Exchange, Sale, Disposal, and Enabling Act 1898, set apart as a site for a technical school, and is within the Education District of Wanganui:
And whereas the land described in Schedule 1 hereto is more suitable for the purposes of a site for a technical school than the land set apart as a site for a technical school; and it has been arranged, with the consent of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hawera, and with the consent of the Education Board of the District of Wanganui, that the land described in Schedule 1 hereto should be vested in the Education Board of the District of Wanganui as a site for a technical school, and that the land described in Schedule 2 hereto should be vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hawera as a reserve for municipal purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such arrangement:
The reference to “Maori”
was substituted, as from 27 November 1947, for a reference to “Native”
pursuant to section 2(2) Maori Purposes Act 1947 (1947 No 59).
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
