Taranaki Agricultural Society Empowering Act 1909

An Act to confer upon the Taranaki Agricultural Society Extended Powers of leasing certain Land.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title

  • This Act may be cited as the Taranaki Agricultural Society Empowering Act 1909.

2 Society to have powers under the Public Bodies Leases Act 1908

  • With respect to the whole or any part of the land described in the Schedule hereto the Taranaki Agricultural Society is hereby declared to be a leasing authority under the Public Bodies Leases Act 1908.

3 Rents may be applied to general purposes of Society

  • Notwithstanding anything contained in the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act 1908, the Taranaki Agricultural Society may apply all moneys received by way of rent for the said land to the general purposes of the Society.

Schedule

ALL that piece of land situated within the Borough of New Plymouth and known as part of St Germain's Square, containing 1 acre 2 roods 30 perches, be the same a little more or less, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west by Molesworth Street, a distance of 413 links; towards the north-east by High Street, a distance of 410 links; towards the south-east by Gill Street, a distance of 413 links; and towards the south-west by Eliot Street, a distance of 410 links.
