Dunedin Technical School Site Act 1911

An Act to vest certain Land in the Otago Education Board in Trust for Educational Purposes.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title

  • This Act may be cited as The Dunedin Technical School Site Act 1911.

2 Certain land vested in Otago Education Board

  • (1.) The street comprising the area of land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby stopped as a public highway, and that area, together with the area comprising Sections 21, 22, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38, Block XIII, on the public map of the City of Dunedin, is hereby vested in the Education Board of the District of Otago in trust for educational purposes, but free from all other trusts and from all rights of way and easements whatsoever.

    (2.) Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, the said Board may use the said areas of land or any part thereof, or may permit the same to be used, as a site for a technical school or college.

3 Board authorized to sell Section 21, Block XV, in City of Dunedin

  • The said Board may, with the consent of the Minister of Education, sell Section 21, Block XV, City of Dunedin, being the site of the present Dunedin Technical School, with the improvements thereon, and on any such sale the Board shall apply the net proceeds thereof in or towards erecting a technical school on the said Sections 21, 22, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38, Block XIII, City of Dunedin, or on any part thereof.

Schedule

ALL that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 34 perches, more or less, being part of a street running through Sections 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38, Block XIII, in the City of Dunedin, and between Sections 21 and 22 and York Place in the said block: as the same is more particularly shown on the plan marked 1911/1151, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor of the Lands and Survey Office, at Dunedin, and coloured green thereon.
