Dunedin City (Waipori Falls) Lands Vesting Act 1914

An Act to vest certain Lands near Waipori Falls in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title
  • This Act may be cited as the Dunedin City (Waipori Falls) Lands Vesting Act 1914.

2 Crown lands vested in Corporation of City of Dunedin
  • The Crown lands described in the Schedule to this Act are hereby vested in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin in fee-simple; and the District Land Registrar at Dunedin shall accordingly, on the application of the said Corporation, issue a certificate of title for the said lands to the said Corporation.


Schedule

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 25 acres, more or less, situated in Block X, Waipori Survey District, bounded as follows: commencing at Peg LVIII on Plan No 9055, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin, being 8544.1 links south and 9227.5 links west of Trig E, Waipori Survey District aforesaid: thence towards the west by a line bearing 344°, distance 50 links: thence generally towards the north and east by the Waipori River for a distance of 3400 links: thence towards the south by a line bearing 274° 30′, distance 50 links; thence across a road-line on a line bearing 274° 30′, distance 100 links: thence towards the east and north-east by the said road-line, bearing 173°, distance 200 links; bearing 144°, distance 140 links; bearing 114° 30′, distance 400 links: thence towards the east by a line bearing 193° 30′, distance 500 links: thence towards the south by a line bearing 284°, distance 2000 links: thence towards the west by a line bearing 5° 30′, distance 630 links: thence towards the north by the road-line aforesaid, bearing 74°, distance 230 links; thence across the said road-line on a line bearing 344°, distance 100 links, to Peg LVIII, the point of commencement: excepting the road which intersects the above-described area.
