An Act to provide for the Vesting in the Church Property Trustees, Canterbury, of certain. Reserves, being Part of the Christchurch Town Reserves, as a Local Endowment within the Meaning of Part 4 of The Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879.
WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto were conveyed, by deed dated the thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, registered number 47793, by the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury to the Bishop of Christchurch, upon trust as sites for churches, schools, and parsonages for the use of members of the Church in communion with the Church of England and Ireland as by law established, with a proviso that if the said lands should not be so occupied within the time therein specified, or should at any time cease to be so occupied, the same should revert to the Superintendent: And whereas the said lands have since become vested in the Church Property Trustees incorporated by Ordinances of the Superintendent of the Provincial Council of the late Province of Canterbury, intituled respectively The Church Property Trust Ordinance, Session II, No 3, and The Church Property Trust Amendment Ordinance 1867: And whereas the said lands were at one time occupied by schools in connection with the said Church, but such schools have since been removed to more convenient sites, and the rents and profits of the said lands have been applied towards the support of such schools, and for other Church purposes: And whereas it is desirable that the said lands should be vested in the Church Property Trustees free from any restriction or reservation:
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
