An Act to discharge an adoption order made on the twentieth day of January, nineteen hundred and fifty-five, in favour of Lloyd Bishop Liddle, of Kaeo, farmer, and Patricia Eleanore Liddle, his wife, as adopting parents of Scott Alan Liddle

  • Preamble

    WHEREAS by adoption order made at the District Court Court at Kaikohe on the twentieth day of January, nineteen hundred and fifty-five, Alan Joseph Scott was legally adopted by Lloyd Bishop Liddle, of Kaeo, farmer, and Patricia Eleanore Liddle, his wife: And whereas the said Alan Joseph Scott (by the said adoption order named Scott Alan Liddle) is desirous of marrying Lloyda Helen Liddle, a natural and legal daughter of the said Lloyd Bishop Liddle and Patricia Eleanore Liddle: And whereas while the said adoption order remains in force the said intended marriage is, by virtue of the provisions of The Adoption Act 1955, within the degrees of prohibited relationship set out in The Marriage Act 1955: And whereas no legal grounds exist for obtaining a discharge of the said adoption order pursuant to the provisions of The Adoption Act 1955:

    The words District Court were substituted, as from 1 April 1980, for the words Magistrate's Court pursuant to section 18(2) District Court Amendment Act 1979 (1979 No 125).

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
