An Act to give to an interim order of adoption made on the 24th day of May 1972 in favour of Andrew Macdonald and Grace Jones Macdonald as adopting parents of Donald Alan Macdonald such force and effect as if it had been a final order of adoption made on the same day
WHEREAS Donald Alan Macdonald (hereinafter called the child) was born on the 8th day of July 1970 and was the subject of an application for adoption made to the Magistrate's Court at Wellington by Andrew Macdonald late of Wellington, carpenter deceased (hereinafter called the father) and Grace Jones Macdonald his wife (hereinafter called the mother) upon which an interim order was made in favour of the father and the mother on the 24th day of May 1972: And whereas the father died on the 13th day of October 1972: And whereas no application for a final order of adoption of the child had or could have been made prior to the death of the father but such application was subsequently made by the mother and on the 7th day of March 1973 such final order was made and expressed to be in favour of the mother only: And whereas the mother desires to have the father's name also shown as a parent on the said final order and in the new birth certificate of the child: And whereas it appears that this can be effected only by enacting that the interim order of adoption in respect of the child shall be deemed for all purposes to be and always to have been a final order:
