  • Preamble

    [Repealed]

    The Preamble was repealed by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907.

1 Lands described in Schedule A vested in Christchurch City Council
  • The lands, tenements, and hereditiaments described in the Schedule A to this Ordinance annexed, shall be and are hereby transferred to, vested in, and held by the Christchurch City Council and its successors, as a corporate body in trust for the public uses and purposes of the said Province of Canterbury, in accordance with the provisions of the Canterbury Association's Reserve Ordinance, Sess V, No 2.

    Section 2 was repealed by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907.

3 Lawful for the said Council to manage the said lands under certain provisions
  • It shall be lawful for the said Christchurch City Council to lease and manage the lands, tenements, and hereditaments hereby transferred to them respectively, at such rents, issues and profits as they may deem expedient, subject to the provisions of the several Acts and Ordinances hereinbefore recited; so that such rents be back rents, and such leases be for any term not exceeding 21 years, to take effect from the time of the execution thereof.

    Section 3 was amended by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907 by omitting the words and the Lyttelton Municipal Council respectively.

4 Title
  • This Ordinance shall be entituled and may be cited as the Municipal Councils Reserves Ordinance 1862.

Schedule A

Reserve No 9—Containing 16 perches, more or less, situate on Oxford Terrace West, having 1 chain frontage to the south side of Worcester Street, and extending back southerly in a rectangular block a distance of 1 chain.

Reserve No 10—

  • Repealed by section 8(1)(a) Christchurch City (Old Municipal Chambers) Empowering Act 1989 (L).

Reserve No 15—Containing 1 rood and is perches, more or less, in 2 blocks, containing 29 perches, each being situate in the Market Place, Christchurch. Block No 1, extending 3 chains along the west side of Colombo Street, and extending westerly in a rectangular block a distance of 61 links. Block No 2, extending 3 chains along the north side of Armagh Street and extending northerly in a rectangular block a distance of 61 links.
