AN ACT to vest a certain Reserve in the Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute, and to provide for Leasing the said Reserve.

  • Preamble

    WHEREAS by a grant from the Crown dated the second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, the land described in the Schedule to this Act was granted to James Macandrew, as and being Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in trust for the Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute: And whereas by an Ordinance, No 368, intituled the Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute Reserves Management Ordinance, 1872, passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Otago, certain other lands conveyed to the said Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute were authorized to be leased and managed as in the said Ordinance appears: And whereas it is expedient and desirable the said land mentioned and described in the Schedule to this Act should be conveyed to the said Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute, and leased and managed as the said Ordinance, to wit the Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute Reserves Management Ordinance, 1872, provides:
