25 Register of designs

(1)

There shall be kept under the control of the Commissioner a register of designs, in which there shall be entered the names and addresses of proprietors of registered designs, notices of assignments and of transmissions of registered designs, and such other matters as may be prescribed or as the Commissioner may think fit.

(2)

Subject to the provisions of this Act and to regulations made thereunder, the register of designs shall, at all convenient times, be open to inspection by the public; and certified copies of any entry in the register shall be given to any person requiring them on payment of the prescribed fee.

(3)

The register of designs shall be prima facie evidence of any matters required or authorized by this Act to be entered therein.

(4)

No notice of any trust, whether expressed, implied, or constructive, shall be entered in the register of designs, and the Commissioner shall not be affected by any such notice.
