An Act to amend the Administration Act 1952

1 Short Title
  • This Act may be cited as the Administration Amendment Act 1964, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Administration Act 1952 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

4 Repeals, amendments, and savings
  • (1) The enactments specified in the Schedule to this Act are hereby repealed.

    (2) The Emergency Forces Payments Without Probate Regulations 1952 are hereby revoked.

    (6) Nothing in this Act shall affect the power of any building society, friendly society, industrial and provident society, or trustee bank or private savings bank, or the Post Office Bank Limited, to make payment of any money or to transfer any property in accordance with a nomination made by any person pursuant to any other enactment.

    The words trustee bank in subsection (6) were substituted, as from 1 April 1984, by section 54(5) Trustee Banks Act 1983 (1983 No 116) for the words trustee savings bank.

    Subsection (4) was repealed, as from 12 December 1983, by section 2(2)(a) Hospitals Amendment Act 1983 (1983 No 77).

    Subsection (5) was repealed, as from 1 April 1986, by section 11(c) Insurance Law Reform Act 1985 (1985 No 117).

    In subsection (6) the reference to the Post Office Bank Limited has been substituted, as from 1 April 1987, for a reference to the Post Office Savings Bank pursuant to the amendment made to section 67(2) of the principal Act by section 32(1) State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986 (1986 No 124).
