An Act to establish the Queen Elizabeth the Second Technicians' Study Award and to make provision with respect to the Award
WHEREAS Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, has graciously agreed to accept a gift from the people of New Zealand to be devoted, in accordance with the wishes of Her Majesty, to encourage and promote the pursuance of full-time study in disciplines such as engineering, science, building, quantity surveying, commerce, management, design, agriculture, dairy technology, forestry, mining, and technologies associated with tourism, so that all the people of New Zealand may benefit: And whereas the gift is to take the form of an Award to be known, in accordance with the gracious approval of Her Majesty, as the Queen Elizabeth the Second Technicians' Study Award:
And whereas the principal terms relating to the Award are contained in a Memorial, of which a copy is set out in the Schedule to this Act, presented to Her Majesty at Auckland on the 26th day of March 1970: And whereas it is necessary to make provision for the Award:
