In respect of any sufficiently described area of vegetation situate within the jurisdiction of the New Zealand Fire Service Commission, the powers of a Fire Authority under this Act may be exercised, notwithstanding any provisions otherwise in any other enactment,—
(a) By any Fire Authority to the extent of any agreement or arrangement made between it and the Commission pursuant to section 14(2) of this Act; or
(b) By any local authority to the extent of any agreement or arrangement made by that local authority with the National Rural Fire Authority and that Commission and published or notified in the Gazette:
Provided that the area shall not thereby cease to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission.

after the word “Minister”

for the words “Minister of Forestry”
