8J Duration of exemption
  • (1) The Director-General may specify in any exemption granted under section 8F of this Act that the exemption is to have effect indefinitely or for a stated period.

    (2) Every exemption granted under section 8F of this Act—

    • (a) Shall come into force on the date of its issue; and

    • (b) Shall continue in force until,—

      • (i) It is revoked pursuant to section 8K of this Act; or

      • (ii) In the case of an exemption granted for a stated period, the expiry of that period; or

      • (iii) It is surrendered pursuant to section 8L of this Act.

    Part 1A, comprising sections 8A to 8ZZG, was inserted, as from 1 July 1997, by section 3 Food Amendment Act (No 2) 1996 (1996 No 97).
