44 Savings

(1)

Nothing in Parts 1 to 5 authorises or permits the making available of any official information if the making available of that information would constitute contempt of court or of the House of Representatives.

(2)

Nothing in Parts 1 to 5 derogates from—

(a)

any provision which is contained in any other enactment and which authorises or requires official information to be made available; or

(b)

any provision which is contained in any other Act of Parliament or in any regulations within the meaning of the Regulations Act 1936 (made by Order in Council and in force immediately before 1 March 1988) and which—

(i)

imposes a prohibition or restriction in relation to the availability of official information; or

(ii)

regulates the manner in which official information may be obtained or made available.
