265 Examination and assessment
  • (1) The Authority may, in accordance with such rules and procedures as it considers appropriate, set and conduct such examinations, and make such assessments, as it considers necessary for the performance of its functions.

    (2) For the purposes of such examinations and assessments, the Authority may make regulations, give directions and approve examiners, assessors and moderators, and may grant awards to persons who reach such standards in the examinations or assessments as are set by the Authority.

    (3) Until 1 February 1991, any examinations that the Authority sets and conducts under this section shall be set and conducted, and any assessments that the Authority makes under this section shall be made, in accordance with the rules and procedures applicable immediately before the commencement of this section.

    (4) Nothing in this Act permits the Authority, without the consent of the chief executive of the institution concerned, to set or conduct any examination, or make any assessment, in respect of the performance by any student in a course of study or training at an institution.
