This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
An Act to amend the District Courts Act 1947
(1) This Act may be cited as the District Courts Amendment Act 1991, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the District Courts Act 1947 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

Section 3 was repealed, as from 1 July 1995, by section 10(2) Department of Justice (Restructuring) Act 1995 (1995 No 39).
[Repealed]
Section 9 was impliedly repealed, as from 1 July 1992, by section 3 District Courts Amendment Act (No 2) 1992 (1992 No 53).
(1) This subsection substituted ss 46 to 48 of the principal Act.
(2) This subsection repealed s 12 District Courts Amendment Act 1979.
(3) This section shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1992.
(3) This subsection repealed s 5 District Courts Amendment Act 1989.
(4) This section shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1992.

(2) Section 10 of, and the Schedule to, the District Courts Amendment Act 1989 are hereby consequentially repealed.
(3) This section and Schedule 1 to this Act shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1992.
(1) Section 2 of the District Courts Amendment Act 1989 is hereby consequentially repealed.
(2) This section shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1992.
Notwithstanding anything in paragraph (d) or paragraph (e) of section 28A(1) of the principal Act (as substituted by section 4 of this Act), a Court shall not have jurisdiction under Part 2A of the principal Act to try any person for any offence referred to in Part 1 or Part 2 of Schedule 1A to that Act if that person was committed for trial for that offence before the date of commencement of section 4 of this Act.
