279 Register of Maori incorporations
  • (1) The Registrar of every Maori Land Court district shall keep in the office of the Court a register of Maori incorporations existing on the commencement of this Act, or thereafter established under this Part of this Act, in respect of land situated in that district.

    (2) The register shall, in respect of every Maori incorporation registered in it, disclose the following particulars:

    • (a) The name of the incorporation and the date of the order of incorporation:

    • (b) The name or other description and the area of the land vested in the incorporation:

    • (c) The names, occupations, and addresses of the members for the time being of the committee of management, and of the duly elected chairman, and the appointed secretary of the committee:

    • (d) The location of the office of the incorporation:

    • (e) Particulars of all orders made by the Court in relation to the incorporation (other than orders vesting the shares of any shareholder in any other person or persons):

    • (f) The date of the filing in the Court of the annual statement of accounts of the incorporation:

    • (g) Every list of unclaimed dividends compiled by the incorporation under section 267 of this Act and transmitted to the Registrar for inclusion in the register:

    • (h) Every special resolution.

    (3) Where a special resolution is made at a meeting of the shareholders of a Maori incorporation, the Secretary of the incorporation shall, within 21 days after the date of the meeting, transmit to the Registrar of the Maori Land Court district, for inclusion in the register of Maori incorporations, a copy of the special resolution, together with particulars of the date and place of the meeting.

    (4) Every register kept pursuant to this section shall, during office hours, be open to public inspection on payment of the fee (if any) prescribed in respect of such inspection.
