204G Publication of candidate advertisement promoting candidate

(1)

A person may publish or cause or permit to be published a candidate advertisement that may reasonably be regarded as encouraging or persuading voters to vote for a constituency candidate only if the publication of the advertisement is authorised in writing by the candidate.

(2)

A person may publish or cause or permit to be published an election advertisement comprising 2 or more candidate advertisements of the kind described in subsection (1) only if the publication of the advertisement is authorised in writing by each of the candidates.

(3)

A person who wilfully contravenes subsection (1) or (2) is guilty of an illegal practice.
