204N Electoral Commission’s decision on application

(1)

If there are no grounds under section 204M to refuse an application by a promoter to be registered, the Electoral Commission must, as soon as is reasonably practicable after receiving the application,—

(a)

register the promoter; and

(b)

notify the person who made the application of the date of registration of the promoter.

(2)

If there are grounds under section 204M to refuse an application, the Electoral Commission must, as soon as is reasonably practicable after receiving the application,—

(a)

refuse the application; and

(b)

notify the person who made the application of the refusal and the reasons.
