23 Consultation on preparation and review of Code
  • Without limiting section 14(2) of this Act, the Commissioner shall, in carrying out the requirements of sections 19 and 21 of this Act, consult with, and invite submissions from, such persons, bodies, organisations, and agencies, including—

    • (a) Representatives of health consumers, disability services consumers, health care providers, and disability services providers; and

    • (b) The Ombudsmen, the Human Rights Commission, the Privacy Commissioner, the Children's Commissioner, and the Director of Mental Health,—

    as the Commissioner considers necessary to ensure that a wide range of views is available to the Commissioner to assist in the preparation and review of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights.

    Paragraph (b) was amended, as from 1 January 2002, by section 71 Human Rights Amendment Act 2001 (2001 No 96) by omitting the words the Race Relations Conciliator,.

    Paragraph (b) was amended, as from 26 November 2003, by section 37 Children's Commissioner Act 2003 (2003 No 121) by substituting the words the Children's Commissioner for the words the Commissioner for Children.
