24 Director of Health and Disability Services Consumer Advocacy
  • (1) For the purposes of this Act, the Commissioner shall from time to time designate one of its employees as the Director of Health and Disability Services Consumer Advocacy.

    (2) In exercising or performing the powers, duties, and functions of the Director of Advocacy under this Act, the person for the time being designated under subsection (1) of this section shall not be responsible to the Commissioner but shall act independently.

    (3) Nothing in subsection (2) of this section limits the responsibility of the Director of Advocacy to the Commissioner for the efficient, effective, and economical management of the activities of the Director of Advocacy.

    Subsection (1) was amended, as from 25 January 2005, by section 200 Crown Entities Act 2004 (2004 No 115) by substituting the words one of its employees as the Director of Health and Disability Services Consumer Advocacy for the words as the Director of Health and Disability Services Consumer Advocacy one of the persons appointed under clause 2 of Schedule 2 to this Act.
