Acts are laws made by Parliament
(1) Section 6P of The Conservation Act 1987 (as inserted by section 5 of The Conservation Law Reform Act 1990) is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the expression “and (7)”
, and substituting the expression “(7), and (7A)”
.
(2) Section 6P of The Conservation Act 1987 (as so inserted) is hereby further amended by inserting, after subsection (7), the following subsection:
“(7A) The Board whose area of jurisdiction includes most of the Waikato claim area within the meaning of section 7 of The Waikato Raupatu Claims Settlement Act 1995 shall consist of not more than 12 persons, being—
“(a) Not more than 11 persons appointed under subsection (2) of this section; and
“(b) The person who for the time being is recognised as the Head of Kahui Ariki, or a person appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the person so recognised.”
(3) This section shall come into force on the 1st day of September 1996.
