Any local authority may prescribe fees by bylaw or resolution in accordance with section 150 of the Local Government Act 2002 for the exercise or performance by the local authority of any power, function, or duty under this Act.
Section 23 was amended, as from 1 July 2003, by section 262 Local Government Act 2002 (2002 No 84), by substituting the words “section 150 of the Local Government Act 2002”
for the words “section 690A of the Local Government Act 1974”

Section 23 was amended, as from 22 December 2005, by section 8 Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Approvals and Enforcement) Amendment Act 2005 (2005 No 123) by substituting the words “local authority”
