An Act to amend the Summary Offences Act 1981
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
(1) This Act may be cited as the Summary Offences Amendment Act 1997, and is part of the Summary Offences Act 1981 (“the principal Act”
).
(2) This Act comes into force on 1 January 1998.
This section amended s 2(1) of the principal Act by inserting the definitions of the terms Crime involving violence and Serious drug offence.
This section inserted s 6(2A) of the principal Act.
This section inserted ss 6A to 6C of the principal Act.
This section substituted s 21 of the principal Act.
The principal Act is amended in the manner indicated in Schedule 2.
