An Act to amend the Telecommunications Act 1987

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement
  • (1) This Act may be cited as the Telecommunications Amendment Act 1997, and is part of the Telecommunications Act 1987 (the principal Act).

    (2) This Act comes into force on 1 February 1998.

2 Interpretation
  • This section inserted the definitions of Call associated data, Call data warrant, Content, and Telephone analyser in s 2(1) of the principal Act.

3 Interference with network
  • This section inserted s 6(2A) and (2B) of the principal Act.

4 New heading and sections inserted
  • This section inserted ss 10A to 10S of the principal Act.
