Social Security (Overseas Pensions) Amendment Act 1998

An Act to amend the Social Security Act 1964 to make further provision concerning arrangements between the Director-General and overseas pensioners relating to the payment of overseas pensions

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement
  • (1) This Act may be cited as the Social Security (Overseas Pensions) Amendment Act 1998, and is part of the Social Security Act 1964 (the principal Act).

    (2) This Act (except section 2(1)) comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

    (3) Section 2(1) is deemed to have come into force on 7 November 1996.

2 Rate of benefits if overseas pension payable
  • (1) This subsection inserted s 70(3A) of the principal Act.

    (2) This subsection inserted s 70(3B) of the principal Act.

3 Regulations relating to overseas pensions
  • (1) This subsection substituted para (g) and repealed paras (h) to (j) of s 132C of the principal Act.

    (2) This subsection inserted s 132C(2) of the principal Act.
