7 Notice of making of Order in Council

• (1) Where an Order in Council is made under section 6(2) or section 6(3), the Minister must, as soon as practicable after the making of that Order in Council,—

  • (a) publish notice of the making of that Order in Council in 1 or more daily newspapers published in the cities of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin respectively; and

  • (b) give written notice of the making of that Order in Council to those persons who appear to the Minister to be representative of the classes of persons likely to be affected by the making of that Order in Council; and

  • (c) give such other public notice of the making of that Order in Council as the Minister thinks fit.

  (2) Despite subsection (1), the publication in accordance with the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989 of any Order in Council made under this section is deemed for all purposes to be notice thereof to all persons concerned, and in any prosecution under this Act the liability of the accused is to be determined accordingly.
