11 Principal responsibilities of General Manager

(1)

The General Manager is responsible to the Speaker for each of the following matters:

(a)

the carrying out of the duties and functions of the Parliamentary Service:

(b)

the tendering of advice to the Speaker and to the Parliamentary Service Commission:

(c)

the general conduct of the Service:

(d)

the efficient, effective, and economical management of the activities of the Service.

(2)

In addition to the responsibilities in subsection (1), the General Manager must—

(a)

ensure that information is provided in accordance with section 19 of the Members of Parliament (Remuneration and Services) Act 2013; and

(b)

perform the functions conferred on the General Manager by that Act, and under any procedures prescribed by the Remuneration Authority in accordance with that Act.

(3)

The General Manager is responsible to the Remuneration Authority for the matters referred to in subsection (2).
