18 Membership of Parliamentary Service Commission between Parliaments

(1)

Throughout each period commencing immediately after the dissolution or expiry of a Parliament and ending with the first meeting of the House of Representatives after the general election of its members, the Parliamentary Service Commission consists of the following:

(a)

the Speaker:

(b)

the Leader of the House or a person nominated from time to time by the Leader of the House:

(c)

the Leader of the Opposition or a person nominated from time to time by the Leader of the Opposition.

(2)

No person may be nominated under subsection (1)(b) or (c) unless the person is a member of Parliament or was, at the dissolution or expiry of the Parliament, a member of Parliament.

(3)

The Speaker continues to be the chairperson of the Commission throughout the period specified in subsection (1).
