The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
(1) This Act is the Conservation Amendment Act 2001.
(2) In this Act, the Conservation Act 1987 is called “the principal Act”.

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
Section 2(1) of the principal Act is amended by—
(a) omitting from the definition of conservation management plan the words “section 48 of the National Parks Act 1980,”:
“section 48 of the National Parks Act 1980,”
(b) repealing the definition of management plan.
