16 Registration Authority to keep register of chartered professional engineers

(1)

The Registration Authority must keep and maintain a register of chartered professional engineers in accordance with this Act and the rules.

(2)

The purpose of the register is—

(a)

to enable members of the public to—

(i)

know who is a chartered professional engineer and what is the status and relevant history of the person’s registration; and

(ii)

select a suitable engineer from a list of chartered professional engineers; and

(iii)

(if the chartered professional engineer has consented) know how to contact a chartered professional engineer; and

(iv)

know which chartered professional engineers have been disciplined within the last 3 years; and

(b)

to facilitate the administrative, disciplinary, and other functions of the Registration Authority under this Act.
