167 Security for costs

If a party to any legal proceedings under this Act does not reside, and does not carry on business, in New Zealand, the Commissioner or the court, as the case may be, may require the person to give security for the costs of the proceedings.

If the person does not comply with subsection (1), the Commissioner or the court may treat the proceedings as abandoned by the person and determine the matter accordingly.
