The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
(1) This Act is the Antarctic Marine Living Resources Amendment Act 2002.
(2) In this Act, the Antarctic Marine Living Resources Act 1981 is called “the principal Act”.

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
Section 2(1) of the principal Act is amended by repealing paragraph (b) of the definition of New Zealand national, and substituting the following paragraph:
“(b) an individual who is ordinarily resident in New Zealand, as defined in section 2(2) and (2A) of the Overseas Investment Act 1973; or”
