Purpose of Part

13 Purpose of Part

The purpose of this Part is—

(a)

to authorise the Bureau to intercept communications and access information infrastructures for the purpose of performing its functions under sections 8A and 8B; and

(b)

to place restrictions and limitations on—

(i)

the interception of communications and the accessing of information infrastructures; and

(ii)

the retention and use of information derived from the interception of communications and the accessing of information infrastructures.
