187 Temporary authority

If the Gambling Commission cancels or suspends a casino operator’s licence, the Gambling Commission may, on application, authorise the applicant (other than the holder of that casino operator’s licence), or another suitable person nominated by the applicant, to carry on the operation of the casino.

An authority given by the Gambling Commission must be for a period not exceeding 3 months.

The Gambling Commission may—

hear and determine an application ex parte; or

direct that notice of the application and of the time and place fixed for any hearing be served on persons and in the manner specified by the Gambling Commission.

On granting an application, the Gambling Commission may impose reasonable conditions that the Gambling Commission thinks fit.

The holder of a temporary authority has the same duties, obligations, and liabilities as the holder of the licence to which the temporary authority relates.
