39 Removal of members of independent Crown entities

(1)

The Governor-General may, at any time for just cause, on the advice of the responsible Minister given after consultation with the Attorney-General, remove a member of an independent Crown entity from office.

(2)

The removal must be made by written notice to the member (with a copy to the entity).

(3)

The notice must—

(a)

state the date on which the removal takes effect which must not be earlier than the date on which the notice is received; and

(b)

state the reasons for the removal.

(4)

The responsible Minister must notify the removal in the Gazette as soon as practicable after the notice is given.
