Trade in Endangered Species Amendment Act 2005

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Custody of seized specimens
  • (1) Section 40(2)(b) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the words this section, and substituting the expression section 39(4).

    (2) Section 40(3)(b) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the words this section, and substituting the expression section 39(4).

    (3) Section 40(4) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the words this section, and substituting the expression section 39.

4 Release of seized specimens
  • Section 41 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, after the word specimen where it last appears, the words , receptacle, or thing.

5 Disposal of seized documents
  • Section 42(3) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the word attendent, and substituting the word attendant.
