12 Assistance and guidance for claimants and respondents

(1)

For all provisions of this Act, the chief executive, and for justice provisions, the Secretary, may, at whatever stage a claimant or respondent may be in the processes provided for by those provisions (or before any of those processes have begun) assist and guide him or her on those processes.

(2)

The assistance and guidance given may include assistance or guidance on—

(a)

assessor’s reports, the advantages of early repair, the informal dispute resolution process, or the mediation and adjudication process:

(b)

other possible means of resolving a particular dispute:

(c)

the implications for the claim concerned if the dwellinghouse concerned has damage or deficiencies not related to weathertightness.

(3)

Subsection (2) does not limit subsection (1).
