The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the District Courts Amendment Act 2007.

2 Commencement
  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Amendments to District Courts Act 1947
4 Tenure of office
  • Section 7(2) is amended by omitting 68 and substituting 70.

5 Acting Judges
  • Section 10(2) is amended by omitting 68 and substituting 70.

6 Retired Judges
  • Section 10A(1) is amended by omitting 68 and substituting 70.

7 Tenure of office
  • Section 11F(1) is amended by omitting 68 and substituting 70.

8 Retired Community Magistrates
  • Section 11H(1) is amended by omitting 68 and substituting 70.
