Pursuant to the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Act 1934, His Excellency the Governor-General, being satisfied in respect of the matters referred to in section 3 of that Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order as follows:

Order

  • This order may be cited as the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Order 1940.

  • The Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Order 1939 (SR 1939/31) and the several proclamations referred to in the Schedule of that order are hereby revoked.

  • It is hereby directed that Part 1 of the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Act 1934 shall extend to those parts of His Majesty's dominions (including territories under His Majesty's protection) named in the first column of the Schedule.

  • It is hereby directed that the respective courts specified in the second column of the Schedule shall, for the purposes of Part 1 of the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Act 1934, be deemed superior courts of the respective parts of His Majesty's dominions named in the first column of the Schedule.
