Animals Protection (Native Frogs) Warrant 1948

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare as follows:—

  • This warrant may be cited as the Animals Protection (Native Frogs) Warrant 1948.

  • This warrant shall take effect on the day following the date of notification thereof in the Gazette.

  • Native frogs (Liopelma hamiltoni and Liopelma hochstetteri) included in Schedule 1 to the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 under the heading Amphibia, shall cease to be included therein, and native frogs (all species of the genus Liopelma) shall be deemed to be included in the said Schedule 1 (animals absolutely protected throughout New Zealand) under the same heading.
