These regulations are administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare as follows:—
This warrant may be cited as the Animals Protection (Native Frogs) Warrant 1948.
This warrant shall take effect on the day following the date of notification thereof in the Gazette.
Native frogs (Liopelma hamiltoni and Liopelma hochstetteri) included in Schedule 1 to the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 under the heading “Amphibia”, shall cease to be included therein, and native frogs (all species of the genus Liopelma) shall be deemed to be included in the said Schedule 1 (animals absolutely protected throughout New Zealand) under the same heading.
