Pursuant to the Licensing Trusts Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Order

This order may be cited as the Oamaru Licensing Trust Order 1961.

The area described in Schedule 1 is hereby declared to be a licensing Trust district, to be called the Oamaru Licensing Trust district (in this order referred to as the Trust district), for the purposes of Part 1 of the Licensing Trusts Act 1949.

There is hereby constituted for the Trust district a Licensing Trust to be called the Oamaru Licensing Trust (in this order referred to as the Trust).

4 Wards

(1)

For the purposes of elections of members of the Trust, the Trust district is divided into the 3 wards described in Schedule 2.

(2)

To avoid any doubt, a reference in Schedule 2 to a borough or a county or a riding is a reference to the borough or the county or the riding as constituted at the commencement of the principal order.

5 Members of Trust

The Trust consists of 5 members, of whom—

(a)

3 are elected for Ward 1; and

(b)

1 is elected for Ward 2; and

(c)

1 is elected for Ward 3.

The terms of office of 4 of the members of the Trust to be elected at the first election of members shall expire, in accordance with section 5 of the Licensing Trusts Act 1949, on the day appointed for the second election of members pursuant to that Act.

7 Quorum

At every meeting of the Trust 3 members form a quorum.

Schedule 1 Oamaru Licensing Trust District

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 201, Block II, Papakaio Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the sea coast to a point in line with the middle of the road intersecting Section 6, Block I, Lower Harbour West Survey District; thence along the middle of that road, to and along the southern boundary of Section 42, Block VI, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to and along the north-western boundary of Section 39, north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 35, and south-western boundaries of Sections 36, 37, and 38, all of Block VI aforesaid, to and along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Section 4, south-eastern boundaries of Sections 3, 2, 1, and 10, all of Block II of the said Lower Harbour West Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the said Section 10; thence north-westerly and northerly generally along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Section 10 to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 23, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, and 95, south-western and north-western boundaries of Section 5, and north-western boundary of Section 6, all of Block VI aforesaid, to and along the south-eastern, northern, and western boundaries of Section 74, eastern, southern, and south-western boundaries of Section 55, western, northern, and north-eastern boundaries of Section 54, all of Block VII of the said North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to and along the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, all of the said Block VII, to the north-eastern corner of the said Section 1;
