  • Coinage Proclamation 1968: revoked, on 12 May 2011, by clause 3 of the Regulatory Reform (Revocations) Order 2011 (SR 2011/99).

This proclamation is administered in the Treasury.


Pursuant to the Decimal Currency Act 1964, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as follows:

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This proclamation may be cited as the Coinage Proclamation 1968.

    (2) This proclamation shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1968.

2 Certain coins called in
  • The following coins are hereby called in:

    • (a) all half-crown coins made and issued after the year 1964:

    • (b) all halfpenny, penny and threepenny coins.

3 Coins in former currency not to be issued
  • Subsection (5) of section 10 of the Decimal Currency Act 1964 shall cease to be in force on the 1st day of June 1968.
