Pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act 1954, the Minister of Justice hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1 Short Title and commencement
  • (1) This notice may be cited as the Work Centres Notice (No 2) 1976.

    (2) This notice shall take effect from the 30th day of June 1976.

2 Closing of Read's Quay Work Centre
  • (1) The land first described in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be no longer a work centre.

    (2) The Work Centres Notice 1975 (SR 1975/254) is hereby consequentially amended by—

    • (a) revoking subclause (12) of clause 2:

    • (b) revoking so much of Schedule 1 as relates to the land twelfthly described in that Schedule.

3 Closing of Victoria Avenue Work Centre
  • (1) The land secondly described in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be no longer a work centre.

    (2) The Work Centres Notice 1975 (SR 1975/254) is hereby consequentially amended by—

    • (a) revoking subclause (17) of clause 2:

    • (b) revoking so much of Schedule 1 as relates to the land seventeenthly described in that Schedule.

7 Exclusion of land from Pitt Street Work Centre
  • The land sixthly described in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be excluded from the Pitt Street Work Centre.


Schedule

  • The Schedule was amended, as from 1 October 1995, by section 12(2) Department of Justice (Restructuring) Act 1995 (1995, No 39) by substituting the words Department of Corrections for the words Department of Justice whenever they occur.

First, all that parcel of land in the Gisborne Land District, containing 4 perches, more or less, situated in the City of Gisborne, being part of Lot 9 on Deposited Plan 100, and being part of the land taken for buildings of the General Government by Gazette Notice No 74016 (New Zealand Gazette, 1963, p 1504); as the said piece of land is more particularly shown on the plan marked J 7/17/46, held in the Head Office of the Department of Corrections, and thereon edged in red.

Secondly, all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 3 acres, more or less, situated in the City of Invercargill, being part Section 27, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 98, folio 20, Southland Registry.

  • Schedule Third paragraph was revoked, as from 12 August 1982, by regulation 3(2)(b) Work Centre (Liddel Street) Notice 1982 (SR 1982/190).

  • Schedule Fourth paragraph was revoked, as from 1 December 1984, by regulation 3(3)(b) Work Centres Notice (No 3) 1984 (SR 1984/286).

  • Schedule Fifth paragraph was revoked, as from 1 April 1984, by regulation 3(3)(b) Work Centres Notice 1984 (SR 1984/87).

Sixthly, all those parcels of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in the City of Auckland, being part of Allotments 9, 10, 12, and 13, Section 45, Town of Auckland, and being parts of the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Volume 751, folios 177 to 179, and Volume 598, folio 103, Auckland Registry; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Adm 13.9.4.1, held in the Head Office of the Department of Corrections, and thereon edged in red.
