Misuse of Drugs Order 1984

This order is administered by the Department of Health.


Pursuant to section 4 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Order

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Order 1984.

    (2) This order shall come into force on the 14th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

2 Schedule 3 of Act amended
  • Part 4 of Schedule 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 is hereby amended by omitting from clause 1 the item relating to Buprenorphine (as inserted by clause 2 of the Misuse of Drugs Order 1983 (SR 1983/173)), and substituting the following item:

    BUPRENORPHINE (17-cyclopropylmethyl-7, 8-dihydro-7-(1-hydroxy-1,2, 2-trimethylpropyl) -6-0-methyl-6, 14-ethano-17-normorphine).

3 Revocation
  • The Misuse of Drugs Order 1983 (SR 1983/173) is hereby revoked.

This order amends the name of the specified substance to render it consistent with international scientific usage.
